Volcker Alliance and Humans of Public Service Partner to Change the Public Service Narrative
The Volcker Alliance and Humans of Public Service (HOPS) have launched a new partnership to showcase and celebrate dynamic and diverse public servants and help rising leaders understand the breadth and importance of career opportunities in government.
Humans of Public Service has shared over 200 stories of public servants from across America to elevate public servants and reflect the diversity of the government workforce at all levels. Each story encompasses the journey of a public servant to their current role and, in their own words, explains what drew them to a career in government.
Through this partnership, HOPS will expand its spotlights to include rising leaders from the Volcker Alliance’s networks who are launching impactful careers in government. The two organizations will also explore ways to continue to build the narrative for public service and connect rising leaders to public service careers.
“Humans of Public Service is spotlighting public servants in innovative, compelling ways and has the potential to transform how the public views government work and its impact,” said Sara Mogulescu, president of the Volcker Alliance. “We believe that HOPS is a natural partner to help amplify the Alliance’s efforts to strengthen pathways into government careers. We are excited to be working together.”
“We are excited to partner with the Volcker Alliance to engage with colleges and universities and reach a larger network of aspiring public servants who are passionate about serving their communities and our nation,” said Brian Whittaker, founder and executive director of HOPS. “This partnership presents an incredible opportunity to strengthen the connection between rising leaders and government service and to transform and modernize the national public service narrative.”
