Tech to Gov Job Fair Draws Over 800 Candidates
On April 18, the Volcker Alliance partnered with the Tech Talent Project, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and members of the Tech to Gov Coalition to host a National Tech to Gov Virtual Forum + Job Fair with a focus on recruiting senior-level technologists with AI or AI-enabling experience to open federal jobs.
The event was extremely well attended, attracting more than 800 jobseekers who connected with representatives from 21 federal agencies including FEMA, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Homeland Security, the Internal Revenue Service, and more. Candidates uploaded more than 1000 resumes that agencies will have access to for the next six months.
The fair featured broadcasts aimed to answer frequently asked questions about government careers. These included opening remarks by Mina Hsiang, United States Digital Service administrator, and Ben Buchanan, White House special advisor for AI; technology demonstrations by the Department of Homeland Security, the State of Vermont, and FEMA; and tips to help candidates successfully transition into government roles.
