Health Tech Hiring Forum Connects Jobseekers to Career Opportunities in Public Health

The Tech Talent Project and the CDC Foundation, with support from the Volcker Alliance, hosted the first Health Tech Hiring Forum on June 18th to connect tech and data experts with employers from various public health agencies. Keynote speakers included two leaders from the CDC Foundation and the CDC: Brandon Talley, chief program & innovation officer, and Sue Lin, public health data officer, Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology.

The event featured discussions about transitioning from the private sector to the public sector and the personal experience of technologists who transitioned to Public Health Agencies (PHAs). Eight PHAs participated in the forum which garnered over 600 event registrations. Such forums are an exceptional tool in the Alliance’s efforts to connect urgently needed tech talent to state and local government jobs.
