Why We’re Passionate About Making Government Work

Welcome to the Volcker Alliance blog. Here at the Alliance, effective government is our passion. We hope to connect with those who share our passion and build that passion in others.

In this blog, we will share ideas to improve the nuts and bolts (and electrons) of government and the skills to use them.  We hope to bring attention to overlooked successes in government practice, and spotlight problems needing attention. We will tell stories backed by facts about the impact of government action, and illustrate facts with stories connecting people in government with the people government serves.

With this blog, we hope to bring the mundane matters of policy execution - not just policy debate and politics - to the center of more conversations so implementation issues get the attention they need.  We will ask questions, engage your knowledge, perhaps provoke your ire, and, we hope, rally more people and organizations to join us in investing time, intelligence, and resources in the critical endeavor of effective government delivery.

As Americans, we aspire to a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We want government to work for the many, while protecting the rights of the few.
