Join Us in Pledging to Complete the 2020 Census!
The Volcker Alliance is proud to partner with the U.S. Census Bureau to encourage a complete and accurate count for the 2020 Census. April 1 was Census Day, and as a partner, we are encouraging our constituents to pledge to complete the 2020 Census now at 2020census.gov. Post one of the images above on social media along with your 2020 Census pledge, and ask your friends and followers to do the same.
The 2020 Census is more than a population count. It's an opportunity to shape your community's future. The census provides critical data that lawmakers, health care facilities, business owners, teachers, and many others use to provide daily services, products, and support for you and your community. Census results help determine how more than $675 billion in federal funds is distributed each year to support vital programs in states and communities across the country. These funds shape local health care, housing, education, transportation, employment, and public policy.
The results of the census also determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives, and they are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts. The count is mandated by the Constitution and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, a nonpartisan government agency. The 2020 Census counts the population in the United States and five U.S. territories.
