Volcker Alliance President Sara Mogulescu Moderates Panel Highlighting Skills-Based Hiring

Opportunity@Work recently hosted a panel with representatives from three of the 21 states actively changing their hiring practices to expand opportunities for workers Skilled Through Alternative Routes (STARs). The webinar, moderated by Volcker Alliance president Sara Mogulescu, featured insights from Jeffrey McCue, commissioner, Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance, Allison Chris Meyers, chair and executive officer, New Jersey Civil Service Commission, and James Regan, deputy secretary, California Government Operations Agency. The group shared successes and challenges as they leveraged policies removing degree requirements for state jobs into practical next steps for hiring STARs.
