Podcast from the Volcker Alliance & Penn Institute for Urban Research Dives into Post-Pandemic Financial Recovery of States and Localities
New York, NY – The Volcker Alliance, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization, in partnership with the Penn Institute for Urban Research (Penn IUR), today launched a new podcast – Special Briefing – that examines fiscal actions states and municipalities are taking in response to COVID-19, unprecedented federal stimulus aid, inflation, and rising interest rates. Hosted by William Glasgall, senior director, public finance at the Volcker Alliance and veteran financial journalist, and Susan Wachter, Penn IUR co-director, the podcast brings together governors, mayors, members of Congress, academics, Wall Street’s most successful investors, and nationally recognized public finance experts to share their experiences and strategies for today and the future. During the podcast episodes, which are based on the popular Special Briefing webinar series, experts also share their perspectives on solutions to widespread economic challenges like inflation and whether state tax cuts may lead to budget shortfalls in future years.
