Glasgall Discusses US Infrastructure Challenge in ASPA Webinar

Bill Glasgall, senior vice president and director of state and local initiatives at the Volcker Alliance, joined a panel of experts on July 23, 2019, for a webinar on "The Performance Challenge of Infrastructure Maintenance." The webinar, produced by the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) and its Center for Accountability and Performance, examined challenges such as:

• How a lack of good data affects efforts to address infrastructure problems,
• The impact of deferred maintenance on the performance of public systems,
• The challenges of tracking maintenance needs, and
• What governments can do to improve how they track this issue and prioritize the allocation of resources.

In addition to Mr. Glasgall, the webinar panel included Richard Beck, former Analyst, Program Manager and Office Director, NASA Headquarters and U.S. Department of the Interior; Jay Fountain, Director, Office of Policy and Management, City of Stamford, Connecticut; and Adam Miles (Moderator), Senior Analyst, U.S. Government Accountability Office.
