Volcker Alliance Hosts Virtual Government Career Fair
On January 27, the Government-to-University (G2U) Initiative, in partnership with Chicago’s Government College Relations Council and the University of Pittsburgh, hosted its first Virtual Government Career Fair showcasing careers in federal government. The fair was hosted on Brazen, a full suite career event management platform that provides a dynamic virtual experience.
Our team recruited over 175 representatives from 70 unique agencies—including the Small Business Administration, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the US Space Force, just to name a few. These agencies are seeking applicants with diverse skills, backgrounds, and interests, and their compelling opportunities drew over 1300 students and recent graduates from the Volcker Alliance’s university networks. In addition to connecting with recruiters through text chat and video, candidates could join any of six live agency showcases with leaders from the Department of State, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the US Environmental Protection Agency, and other featured agencies.
The strong attendance at the event confirms rising leaders are hungry for opportunities to serve, and government leaders are keen to hire the next generation of leaders. The Alliance is preparing to launch a series of virtual government job fairs to provide more opportunities for government employers to bring talent into public service.
