Opening Remarks for the Chapter 9 and Alternatives for Distressed Municipalities and States Workshop

The Volcker Alliance, the George Mason University State & Local Government Leadership Center and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York hosted a day-long workshop bringing together practitioners, academics and other experts in municipal finance to discuss Chapter 9 and other alternatives for distressed municipalities and states.

William C. Dudley, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, offered remarks on the Bank's role in ensuring stability in state and local finances and supporting the Volcker-Ravitch state fiscal crisis task force.
